HDMI cable owners in Korea will soon be able to enjoy watching their favourite 3D films on the new passive 3D projector launched by LG Electronics.

The projector boasts some pretty impressive features. As well as a 200-inch wide screen, the Model CF3DAT 3D projector will use 2D to 3D conversion technology to display full HD 3D images. It will be capable of 1920 x 1080 resolution and it has a brightness of 1250 ANSI lumens, which LG claims is around six times brighter than other projectors.

The president and CEO of the LG Home Entertainment Company, Havis Kwon, described how the company hopes the new 3D projector will be used:

“The CF3DAT is the latest product to join the LG CINEMA 3D family and it’s a serious workhorse,”

“The CF3DAT is at home in a living room or auditorium as it has the muscle to project a five meter picture in bright, movie theatre glory.”

3D film fans in the UK will have to wait until at least the first half of 2012 to get a glimpse of LG’s new 3D projector, but there is no reason not to buy HDMI cables and 3D films in advance.
